Each of the series below express an indeterminate methodology for painting characterised by the concept of not-knowing, an idea that could also be described as knowing that you don't know. When painting I (optimally) experience this conundrum as a close-to synchronous observing and doing. I find this method gathers together all that is making up the present moment - environment, emotion, senses, memory - and coheres them within a painting-based logic of time and space.
