The name of this series of paintings, 'Zwinkle', was chosen near randomly by observing where marks made from cleaning my brushes on pages in a telephone book indicated a name (and Zwinkle is already quite a fetching combination of letters). Rather than being flippant, this method of choosing this series' title is akin to methods integral to the paintings' making, that is, an interplay of chance, intention and intuition that sometimes cohere as a significantly serendipitous moment - even when 'significant' slips into realms of the absurd.
